According to the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee and Rockport Analytics, the game yielded $370 million dollars in new net spending attributed solely to the game being played at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
According to Maureen Bausch of the Super Bowl Host Committee, additional inquiries for conventions, meetings and hotels have increased about 30 percent. "Most importantly, we wanted to bring people back, again and again," she said. About 83 percent of people visiting Minnesota for the first time want to return, she added.
According to Rockport Analytics, the Super Bowl resulted in an additional $21 million dollars in state tax receipts and $12 million dollars in additional local taxes.
Following the announcement, Governor Mark Dayton held a brief media availability.
