44:45Now PlayingRestaurant and bar owners joined Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka at a press conference Thursday, December 17, to voice their frustrations over Governor Walz's latest COVID-19 restrictions, which limit seating to the outdoors.
"Right now, who wants to eat outside?" asked Jeff LaBeau of Depot Bar and Grill in Faribault, Minnesota. "I already took $250,000 thousand out of my retirement, but right now I am committed to the community; I am committed to my employees," he said. "This is just a ridiculous mandate that they are doing right now," he added.
"I want to open up quicker than the Governor," said Gazelka. He said that the regulations should be handled by local officials and he believed bar and restaurants owners could provide services following CDC guidelines and in a safe manner. "In the end, we have to open up." he said.
