In Mumbai, the civic body, BMC has declared the Deonar dumping ground a prohibited area. In a move to prevent any more fires, the
landfill is being patrolled day and night. Aishwarya Paliwal sent this report earlier today on what has been done on ground to contain
the Deonar crisis. According to the final action by the BMC - Deaonar landfill is a prohibitted area, the wall construction is underway
and day-night patrols are on prevent recurrent fire. An effort is being made to convert 2,000 tonnes of waste, daily, to energy. And
to set up a plant in the dump yard. The TCS report is to be out in one month.
