Question: I have bought an apartment in Mumbai 2 years back and have taken loan from HDFC around Rs 25 lakhs. Is it good to prepay the loan after 2 years because in initial 2-3 years you pay most of the interest? I also want to know is it good to prepay the loan?
Answer: You need to see this with a perspective of whether you want to use this interest to save your tax or else you can prepay some part and close the loan. But if you want to take tax benefit then you need to continue to pay the loan to save your taxes.
