Question: I want to shift my loan from HDFC Bank to SBI. How much should I pay for the transfer?
Answer: Generally transfers are allowed after 6 months. The process of home loan transfer will involve processing fees which varies from bank to bank. If you are transferring to obtain a lower interest rate, then in all probability existing loan provider will reduce your interest rate. They may also do this by charging conversion fees (vary between 0.5% - 1% of outstanding loan amount). You can opt for such offers before transferring the loan.
