Question: How to claim income tax refund which I paid when my house was under-construction. I am claiming home loan interest this year. Will I get reimbursement this year if my current annual tax rebate is Rs 2 lakhs.
Answer: Each year is distinct and the only way to claim a refund is to file your tax returns for that year. Currently you could file your returns for financial years ended 2015 and 2016. If your income is below the taxable limit any tax deducted can be claimed as refund.
