Truckers could go on a strike starting March 10, if Tamil Nadu government does not roll back VAT levied on petrol and diesel.

Prices of petrol and diesel in Tamil Nadu went up by Rs 3.78 rupees and Rs 1.70 respectively, following the state government revising the Value Added Tax or VAT on these products. Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers Association however has protested the move, saying the hike would affect all sections of society and demanded an immediate rollback.
