A local NGO has appealed to the Maharashtra Cultural Minister Vinod Tawde to take legal action against Mumbai movie theaters.

The petitioner, Prithvi Maske claims that article 26 of the Labour Law has a clause that states that houses of entertainment such as movie theaters should not stay open past 12:30 am at night.
