To bring in the smuggled gold inside the country, the syndicate is using the air route to large extent. From January to May this year in 115 cases, 124 kg of gold has been seized at Mumbai airport by the Airport Intelligence Unit, which cost around Rs 39 crore. 54 Indians and 13 foreigners have been arrested till now.
