12:45Now PlayingDelhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is addressing media on state’s preparations to fight Coronavirus.
He says, ‘The situation is under control after one week of relaxation of lockdown norms. The number of cases is rising, but there is no worry for now. There is a total of 13418 cases in Delhi, 6540 have been cured, 6617 active cases and 261 deaths. The Government hospitals have 3829 beds, 3164 beds with oxygen, 1478 occupied, and more than 2500 empty beds. There are a total of 250 ventilators out of which 11 are in use. Private hospitals - 677 total beds of which 409 are occupied. 117 private hospitals have to keep 20% of seats for Covid-19 patients. 2000 extra beds are available in private hospitals. 72 ventilators are available of which 15 are occupied. Total in private hospitals: 4500 beds of which 2000 are occupied and 2500 are empty. No hospital will ask Covid-19 patients to go out. It is the responsibility of the hospital to call an ambulance and send the patient to a proper hospital. We are making a system for bed allocation for serious Covid-19 patients’.
