Tamil Nadu is the worst affected state after Maharashtra and Chennai is a Coronavirus hotspot with the total number of cases crossing 17,000. Ritchie Street is an important market which has been closed for almost two months with almost 2,000 shops and 18,000 people dependent on it for their livelihood.
Congestion is a major concern for the authorities as it is difficult to control the movement of people and practice social distancing. Colour coded stickers are being used to mark which shop is allowed to operate on particular days of the week.
