3:30Now PlayingAs a part of Mumbai Unlocks, BEST buses have opened for commuters. From today, private offices have opened in the city allowing not more than 10 per cent staff. BEST buses are also ferrying essential staff.
Now, buses are not taking more than 30 passengers. Only one passenger allowed per seat each row and not more than 5 standing passengers allowed.
With suburban trains still shut in Mumbai, people are relying on BEST buses as affordable transport.
However, only 86 bus routes are operational. Commuters complain that they are required to wait for 30 mins-2 hours for buses.
Buses are seen skipping stops, not allowing people to board after a limit of 30 passengers each bus is crossed.
People complain of being late to the office on day 1 itself.
Maharashtra state road transport Corporation is also plying 650 buses to facilitate them.
