3:00Now PlayingCOVID-19 cases in the state of Tamil Nadu has crossed the 50000 mark and hence to curb the spread a complete lockdown is imposed in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram from 19th June to 30th June. However, relaxations will be provided only for essential services.
Rental cabs and auto-rickshaws will not be allowed during the period but can ply for an emergency. 33% workforce in government offices. Government staffs in Containment zones, not required to come to work. Private and rental vehicles will be only allowed for medical emergencies. People allowed to buy essential items within 2 km radius and that too by walking only. Food aggregators and delivery staffs allowed. From 20th to 26th June, bank-related vehicles and staffs will be allowed to ply between 10 am to 2 pm. On 21st and 28th June (Sundays), it will be a complete lockdown and no vehicle movement will be allowed except for essential service and medical emergency. For those reaching airport or train station should carry their tickets. Strict action would be taken against anyone travelling without necessary documents.
