The Uddhav Thackrey led Maharashtra government had passed the order that the patients will not receive the results of their COVID test directly. The apex court has now overturned the order stating that the results will be issued to the patients or their nearest relatives. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on June 8, altered its testing protocol for the eighth time since the beginning of the pandemic. The decision to not allow private labs to share test results had drawn significant criticism from the BJP.
