The police shot him dead and had four bullet injuries. It is reported that he was shot thrice on the chest and one bullet injury near the stomach. Uttar Pradesh police have clarified that the report of the vehicle being changed is not true and has denied all the media reports. Certain media reports said that he was traveling in a TATA Safari and then in a different vehicle.
