Thenkasi - Anaikkarai Muthu, was called in for questioning on 22nd July overlaying a fence illegally.
His family was later informed that Muthu was not feeling well and taken to hospital where he died.
A case under CrPC 176(A) was filed with Alwarkurichi Police and Magistrate Karthikeyan has initiated an enquiry.
Meanwhile, Muthu's family alleged that this is custodial death and refused to accept the body stating they want justice.
Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy on a statement has said that action will be taken as per the Magistrate's report and announced a solatium of 10 lakh rupees.
