3:17Now PlayingFive months after Delhi's worst affected Gokalpuri Tyre market, is now opened. The shops were looted and set ablaze by rioters but even after five months, the shopkeepers have not yet got any help from the state or central government.
A total of 229 shops of Gokalpuri Tyre market come under DDA. Out of which total, 97 shops were looted and gutted on fire by rioters. For three consecutive days, the market was attacked by rioters.
The reconstruction work has happened with the help NGOs, relatives, Delhi Waqf board and Jamat-ulema Hind. The shopkeepers complained that the compensation assured by the government is yet being given to them. The government says the disbursement is delayed due to lockdown.
