The Department of Public Instruction of Karnataka has reduced syllabi for classes 6-10 by 30% on Monday, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lesson units dealing with Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan, history of Mysore, and some other sections on the Indian Constitution have been removed. For Class 7, chapters on the Drafting Committee of the Constitution and salient features of the Constitution have been dropped. For Social Studies, Chapter 5 of Class 7 that deal with Haider Ali, Tipu Sultan, historical places of Mysuru, and the administration of Commissioners have been removed. For class 6, entire lessons on Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed have been dropped.
