3:13Now PlayingTamil Nadu government issues SOP for firms bringing in guest workers back for work claiming that 5 lakh guest workers were working in the State prior to lockdown.
Companies which want to bring in guest workers into the state shall apply to the collectors for Tamil Nadu e-pass providing details including their names, address, aadhar number, mobile number, address of workplace, details of the vehicle and proposed quarantine facility etc.
District Collector will examine request and approval online. Cost of transporting workers by bus/van to be borne by the firm. All individuals to undergo thermal screening before they board bus/van. On arrival in Tamil Nadu, workers to undergo RT-PCR test at the cost of the firm getting them. If an individual develops symptoms in the 14 days, they must be tested for Covid-19.
The others who are asymptomatic and complete 14 days without symptoms can be deployed at worksites following protocol in place. Every day workers to undergo thermal screening at the worksite. The place of accommodation for workers must be hygienic, well ventilated and they must be educated on protocols of health and hygiene. Guest workers must be imparted with heath education using the appropriate language by the company.
