Increase in infection percentage is observed at 6 zones of the 15 zones in the City.
Anna Nagar, Ambattur, Kodambakkam, Manali and Valasaravakkam and Alandur recorded positive cases above 25%.
From 8th August to 20th August,
Manali - 30%
Ambattur - 44%
Anna Nagar - 29%
Kodambakkam - 26%
Valasaravakkam - 29%
Alandur - 28%
Chennai on Saturday currently had 12,962 positive cases.
City dwellers could only breathe a sigh of relief as the daily positive case went below 1000 last week hut once again has gone 1,200 per day.
Corporation officials state that Ambattur, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakkam and Anna Nagar are much larger zones where Frontline workers are finding it difficult to enforce social distancing but will soon increase fever camps and surveillance.
