On The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, a report from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy shows that nearly 19 million salaried people lost their jobs between April and July, Tanvi Shukla breaks down the data in order to help understand the scenario. 'The distress is felt in most of the sectors even today' says Aditya N Mishra who is the CEO at Ciel H R India, he further adds that there are only a few sub-sectors where there is some activity.

R Sriram, Resident Editor, The Economic Times explains that the next four-six months are crucial, it is very difficult to say how things will pan out, but it all depends on the possibility on the lockdown, economic growth, the possibility of a vaccine, government measures and the sentiment carried forward by the people.

Professor Santosh Mehrotra highlights that there is plenty of evidence to show that we should not be expecting the salaried jobs to be coming back for a fair bit of time.
