6:00Now PlayingBengaluru, Karnataka: Just 24 hours - that's how long the Bengaluru cops took to crack down on a gang of 5 that had kidnapped an 11-year old and demanded a ransom of 2 crores. The boy, son of a textile businessman, went missing on Thursday evening from Frazer Town around 6:30PM. Later that night, the boy's family received a letter at their textile shop demanding a ransom of 2 crores and threatening the family not to inform the cops. On the pretext of buying him a kite, the kidnappers took him the boy to Tumakuru in a car and offered him drinks laced with sedatives. Meanwhile, the boy's parents approached the police with the letter. The police zeroed in one accused after all the details provided by the family. The cops raided the accused's hideout in Tumakuru and sensing danger, the accused tried to escape in the car and the police chased them and nabbed them. Police arrested the driver and other accused and rescued the boy. The team of cops then started to look for the mastermind, a man from Bengaluru. On finding him, the cops fired in his leg when he tried to attack the cops. Following this, the Bharathi Nagar Police have arrested 5 persons and further investigation is on.
