State Government has issued certain guidelines, keeping in mind the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, for the celebration of festival and immersion of the Ganesh idol. In Mumbai, BMC had directed certain rules for Ganesh visarjan, however many were seen violating these norms.
For the first time ever, Mumbai’s most famous Ganpati Mumbai cha Raja and Lalbuag cha Raja will be immersed in an artificial pond. Even though the 11-day celebration was muted, at least 500 people have gathered near the pandal for visarjan flouting all social distancing and other lockdown norms.
