53:17Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate today, Sahar Zaman takes you through India’s COIVD-19 reality. Our country reported nearly 20 lakh Coronavirus cases in August and over 5 lakh cases recorded just in the last week of August. More than 75000 cases reported for five straight days between August 26 and 30.
As India unlocks, are there fresh fears? Is India now taking COVID-19 lightly?
Researcher, Global Health, Bioethics & Health Policy, Anant Bhan, says ‘Our absolute numbers are pretty alarming. This is not a time to loosen up. While it is important to focus on non-COVID healthcare, COVID-19 is a priority we should not be moving away from’; and, Nephron Clinics, Chairman, Dr Bagai says, ‘The herd immunity concept & the vaccine is a long way away.
