9:43Now PlayingThe Centre has banned 118 Chinese apps second in the series before the Indian Government had banned over 60 apps. This after the tension between India and China in north-eastern Ladakh. The government has cited strong reasons as to why these apps have been banned over 242 apps.
PUBG which is widely popular among school children and college students among India as it is the largest market for PUBG. The concerns over PUBG are not limited to data theft. The 118 apps are banned under Section 69 A of the IT act as these apps engage in activities prejudicial to India's defence. The centre also said that the user data was stolen & surreptitiously transmitted.
