47:01Now PlayingOn the Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla discusses the COVID unlocking phase with a team of Doctors, trying to understand the current situation. The COVID-19 pandemic which broke in the month of March has engulfed not just the people but the economy as well.
Dr Gautam Bhansali, member of the Maharashtra COVID19 task force states that with the unlocking and festivals, the cases have increased. He further adds that if there has been an increase in the number of cases, the number of tests being conducted in a day have also gone up. Another doctor, Dr SK Sarin states that the reason we are going to see more cases is that there is a spread of the virus via asymptomatic people. Everyone should thus try and get tested. He further adds that we have a long way to go in September.
Dr Vijay D’Silva states that the solution for this pandemic lies in the hands of the people. They have to be more disciplined and wear masks and maintain social distancing. On speaking with AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria, it’s discovered that there is a bit of COVID behaviour fatigue. People have let their guards down. A strategy is needed to revitalize, re-energize people to go back to following the norms.
