40-50 PLA soldiers armed with rods, spears, clubs and pole weapons (Guandao) approached aggressively towards an Indian post in Mukhpari area of Rezang-La ridgeline in eastern Ladakh. The sources claim that the Chinese troops' aim was to remove Indian troops from strategic heights in Mukhpari peak and Rezang-La ridgeline in Ladakh.
The use of firearms along the LAC marks a serious escalation in border tensions.
