Lakhs of ineligible accounts gaining benefit of PM Kisan Samman Yojana scheme discovered by officials.
2.25 crore rupees recovered ineligible accounts at Thiruvannamalai from 32,000 accounts.
Work in process to recover 35 lakh rupees from ineligible accounts from Vellore, Thirupathur and Ranipet.
CB-CID officials have arrested a person running Self Help Group in Thiruvannamalai in relation to the scam and believe that the scam has occured in 13 districts from Tamilnadu alone.
In Villupuram, CB-CID team has arrested 3 people for forging documents and registering 38,000 fake entries, dispersing 3.75 crore rupees.
40,000 ineligible have been identified jn Kallakurichi so far and 3 crore rupees recovered so far.
PM KISAN scheme provides 6000 rupees to eligible farmers holding land in 3 equal installments,the amount gets credited to the Aadhar linked account.
Several officers from Agriculture Department, Self Help Groups, Data entry operators are currently being questioned by CB-CID team.
But 5.5 lakh ineligible accounts created by a nexus of Computer operators, brokers and certain officiala who are currently being investigated.
State fears that 110 crore rupees dispersed to ineligible accounts. Officials recover 35 crore rupees so far.
3 suspended, disciplinary action against 34 and 80 contract staffs dismissed. Waiting for further reports from CBCID post which action will be taken.
Chairman of the banks instructed to reverse money from such ineligible beneficiaries as per the request of the District Collector.
Scan feared to have occured in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu alone, further investigation by CBCID pending.
