After Jayalalitha’s death, AIADMK plunged into chaos with present DCM OPS faction arising doubts over the former Supremo's death and claiming that Sasikala's family was trying to take over the party.
After several rounds of political Hungama, Sasikala going to prison and then being evicted from the party, along with her nephew, TTV Dhinakaran and several rounds of IT Raids, EPS and OPS faction merged together to become the pole bearers of Jayalalitha’s legacy.
However, with the upcoming elections and analysis showing a slump in AIADMK popularity favouring DMK, talks apparently have begun to negotiate with Sasikala. Several visits have been made to Parapanna Agrahara prison where Sasikala is present and sources state that BJP is keen in garnering her support as DMK and Congress ties are still strong in the State. But Sasikala had apparently made it clear that no talks can begin unless she is reinstated as General Secretary of AIADMK.
