Bihar elections 2020 dates out; Will polls amid COVID impact political parties? | The Urban Debate

On the Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla takes up the Bihar elections topic and discusses how the elections will be held amidst the pandemic. Bihar is the first state which will be conducting elections amidst the pandemic and the Chief Election Commissioner has announced the dates and has also made it clear that the elections will be conducted in three phases.

Will the COVID-19 norms make it more challenging to take the message to the voters of the work that the political party has done? Tanvi Shukla asks Syed Afzal Abbas of JDU party. Chitranjan Gagan states that the people of Bihar have made up their mind to get freedom from Nitish Kumar government. He further adds that Tejashwi Yadav will become the next Chief Minister of Bihar. Nitish Kumar has been the CM of the state for the last 15 years.

Nikhil Anand adds that BJP is happy that elections are a part of the democratic process and it should take place on time. BJP is surprised that RJD wants to come to power on a hollow note. We are sure we will come to power, adds Nikhil Anand.
