32:53Now PlayingOn the Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla talks about the Bharat Bandh and the farmer protest that took place in the country today. A massive Rail Roko was witnessed in Punjab. The farm protests come in line with the farm bills that have been passed in the Lok Sabha in the last week, even after facing a massive criticism from the opposition. While the opposition stated that the farm bills are not in favour of the farmers, the ruling government has been bent on the fact that they are for the betterment of the farmers.
Shama Mohamed states that the BJP does not see farmers as humans. It is their protest and we are supporting them. My question to the government is why not put MSP in the bill? Avik Saha, National Convenor of Jai Kisan Andolan further adds that “it looks like there were protests at 20,000 sites today and about 20 lakh farmers were out on the streets today.” The government refuses to understand the requirement of the farmers and is going on legislating at breakneck speed.
BJP member Shivam Chhabra contradicts this statement by saying that poor propaganda is being run by the opposition for trying to oppose a bill which is progressive. They have been trying to persuade the farmers saying there is some serious issue regarding the MSP of the crops.
