44:35Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, amidst the various debates, the Shaheen Bagh case has now come forward with a lot of many revelations. Supreme Court's verdict on Shaheen Bagh protests that are held in the public domain is the most questionable debate.
Shaheen Bagh emerged as the centre of CAA-NRC protests during December 2019. Not only was it recognized nationally but internationally too. Anjali Bhardwaj, a social activist states that the court has upheld the right to protest.
She further affs that it has said that protests should be in designated spaces. Unfortunately, there has been a huge shrinking of space where people can come out and put forth their points of view.
Sudesh, a BJP spokesperson explains that there is a way by which one can disown the government, he further explains that one can mobilise public opinion.
When elections come, one can throw out the government, but one cannot say what they are doing is correct and what the other party is doing is wrong.
'Social issues are the remedy and cause of the protest and administrative issues ensure that the larger citizenry is not impacted. Both have to go hand in hand,' says Sidharth Luthra, Former Additional Solicitor General.
