The move came after 100 returnees from the United Kingdom have tested positive for COVID -19. Their samples have been sent for further testing. The task force has suggested routine genomic surveillance in order to track new strains. Sources within ICMR informed that around 2800 genomic sequencing of the samples has been done. COVID strategic guidelines have been formed by the task force for the people who have returned from the United Kingdom.
