15:12Now PlayingOn The Big Story, today we discuss how the Bhartiya Janata Party is gearing up to bring anti-conversion law in states, the voices of dissent are now emerging from the NDA alliance itself. The ally JD(U) has hit out at the Bhartiya Janata Party that the anti-conversion law will create an atmosphere of hate in the society.
The question we are asking today is, should India revisit the anti-conversion law, understanding how the law has been misused. In order to discuss the massively debated and controversial anti-conversion law, we have an imminent guest panel, Geeta Luthra, Senior Advocate Supreme Court, and Desh Ratan Nigam, RSS Supporter.
‘The U.P. law came after U.P. Law Commission recommended it after going through statistics. It is not that these laws are coming out of the vacuum, people have applied their minds’, says Desh Ratan Nigam.
'You are treating a woman as less of a human being and imagining that she has no right to decide what is good and bad for her. If any action is forcible then depending on the result there is a penal offence for it’, says Senior Advocate, Geeta Luthra.
