Twenty-four people, most of them attending a funeral, were killed and seventeen others injured on Sunday when the roof of the shelter at the Muradnagar cremation site collapsed.
Contractor Ajay Tyagi, who went into hiding after news of the spread of the collapse, was nabbed by a joint team of Muradnagar and Niwari police near the Ganga canal bridge in Sathedi village.
