It has stated that is looking into the changes made by WhatsApp. Centre further stated that the sanctity of personal communication needs to be maintained.
Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also shared his views over the controversy, said that ‘the companies are free to do business in India but in a manner without impinging upon the rights of Indians who operate there’.
Meanwhile, many users have switched from WhatsApp to a new application called ‘Signal’.
