1:46Now PlayingThe road and transport ministry on Sunday announced that any vehicle passing through NH toll plazas without a FASTag from the midnight of February 15-16 will have to pay double the toll charges. Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has also mentioned that the date for the adoption of FASTag will not be pushed any further so everyone should get FASTags immediately.
The government had earlier made FASTags mandatory for motor vehicles from January 1 this year. He also mentioned that reduction of fuel consumption, seamless passage through the toll plaza, utilisation of digital payment mode are a few of the advantages of the FASTags.
