1:00Now PlayingThe growing number of regular coronavirus cases in Mumbai has concerned both residents and civic officials. Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar has said that enforcing a night curfew in the city is required at this time due to an increase in cases.
Officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), according to Pednekar, are also preparing to relocate the crowded markets to new locations. The Mayor also urged people to obey all COVID-19-related safety measures, saying that Mumbaikars would work together to avoid a lockdown in the country's financial capital. Nawab Malik, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), warned earlier today that those who do not obey protocols will face severe consequences.
