Dhinakaran, minister and sitting AIADMK MLA Kadambur C Raju, and CPM candidate K Srinivasan are in a tight three-cornered race for the seat.
Kovilpatti is a Tamil Nadu Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency located in the Thoothukudi district. It is part of the Lok Sabha constituency of Thoothukudi. The Kovilpatti constituency had 2,48,279 registered voters in the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly election. Mirror now spoke to some of the voters. Some of the local vendors said that Dhinakaran's manifesto speaks about schemes for development and his promises are of treating all communities in the state equally.
