Soon after, the assailant was apprehended by the officers. Thippeswamy M (33), the assailant, is seen arguing with Dr Priyadarshini inside the Covid ward before assaulting her. The incident was captured on a surveillance camera inside the ward, and the video quickly went viral on social media. Netizens demanded harsh and immediate retaliation against the intruder, as well as improved protection for doctors battling the pandemic. The attacker's father, who had been treated for Covid-related issues for a week, died on Sunday morning, according to the Cowl Bazar Police, who had filed a report.
