5:29Now PlayingOn the occasion of International Yoga Day, Karnataka has responded to PM Modi's call of free vaccines for all. The government aims to administer around 7 lakh vaccines to the population of the state. The state government has also launched 'Lasika Mela’ or 'Vaccine Mela' as a special drive, in response to PM Modi's centralised vaccine drive. This comes after PM Modi announced that the centre would be giving free vaccines to all states. So far, the state government has administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines to around 1.5 crore people, which is about 22% of the population. The state government aims to vaccinate the whole population of over 6.5 crore by December.
