As per an Indian Express report, 86 out of 172 independent directors are linked to BJP. On this matter when Tanvi Shukla asked BJP Samir Kagalkar, he said, Political affiliation shouldn't matter so long as you have the right candidate on the board; It's part of their personality, but as long as there is fitness in terms of quality, experience, it should be welcomed. In this regard, Congress leader Gourav Vallabh said, Every year, there's a meeting of independent directors which is mandatory. Why can't minutes of those meetings be a part of annual report of the company so that people know what these directors are discussing.
