The high court said the Maharashtra government needs to activate its machinery to stop any political rallies defying COVID-19 protocols. The High Court further said if the state is unable to prevent such incidents in the future, the court will have to step in and prohibit any such political rally. Earlier, 25,000 people protested in Navi- Mumbai demanding that the under-construction international airport should be named after the late D B Patil.
