9:03Now PlayingMonsoon fury has struck four states across India- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra. The two worst-hit places are Ratnagiri and Raigad of Maharashtra with 48 deaths reported with rain-related incidents.
Telangana CM has asked the MLAs to monitor situations in their constituencies.
Districts like Ratnagiri, Satara, Kolhapur, Raigarh and Pune have reported floods and landslides. Raigarh collector confirmed to Times Now that a total of 36 people have died while 30 feared trapped. Approximately 7-8 landslides have occurred in the Satara district alone. The situation continues to be grim across the districts of Maharashtra.
Speaking to Mirror Now, Ratnagiri collector has called it a partial "man-made disaster", more than 80% of the town has been submerged due to rise of water level in Vashisht River and a probe will be conducted regarding the illegal constructions in the area.
CMO has asked the Belgaum district to be on alert as the water level in the Krishna River is continuously rising.
NDRF, Coast Guards along with the Navy and Army are carrying out rescue operations since morning. 6 additional NDRF teams have been requested to reach the affected areas.
