There have been numerous instances in the recent past of NSA being used against people without any legal procedure's involvement. An Allahabad High Court, a case has been quashed under NSA. 3 people were accused of cutting beef for selling purposes for doing the act secretly in their houses in Uttar Pradesh. The accused were booked under NSA in 2020. However, High Court has said that this act happened probably due to poverty, lack of employment and hunger but this is not a case of public order. The court also said that it can come under law and order and hence the High Court quashed the detention order and set the accused free.
