48:09Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, we discuss the right to education. During the pandemic, a lot of students have migrated from private schools to government schools. In Tamil Nadu, among one lakh seats available, only fifty thousand admissions took place in the private schools. Not willfully, but in fact, students are forced to migrate since their parents cannot afford private schools because of their financial problems induced by the pandemic. This is not a debate about whether private schools are better or government since it varies from state to state. However, the perks which students get in higher education due to government schools are there. In states like Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, students are dropping out of school altogether, which has become a rising concern of the central government. Watch the debate to know more.
