Both ferries had a head-on collision, till now 100 people have been rescued. The disaster relief teams have been brought in to carry out rescue operations in the area. During the peak of the monsoon, the water flowing intensity of the river Brahmaputra is above the danger level. It seems a big challenge for the disaster relief team to carry search and rescue operations in that area. Several people are still missing.
