3:42Now PlayingThe Madras High Court has now issued a notice to the Tamil Nadu government in connection with manual scavenging. The High Court has directed all the corporations to submit an undertaking that will state that there will be no manual scavenging under their jurisdiction. The High Court also observed and reiterated that the commissioners will be held responsible personally if any incident of manual scavenging is reported. The Madras High Court directed that all the machines should be procured and new guidelines are issued within the next 6 weeks. The civic bodies are directed to ensure that no manual scavenging takes place.
