The most delayed monsoon in 19 years has resulted in the highest rainfall for Delhi since 1975, Indian Meteorological Department told Mirror Now.
According to IMD, 81.3 millimetres of in Safdarjung and 98 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Palam area of national capital.
"With today's heavy rainfall in parts of Delhi, Safdarjung in this 2021 monsoon season so far received a total of around 1100mm, breaking record of 2003 when 1050mm was there for whole season. 2021 monsoon rains of Safdarjung is highest after 1975 when season had a total of 1150mm Thus, 2021 monsoon is the highest in the last 46 years for Safdarjung. Still, Season 2021 yet to end," said an IMD official.
The buses were seen stuck in waterlogged roads and traffic has been diverted in many areas of the national capital due to waterlogging in the underpasses
