In the latest updates from the contendership for the new Punjab Chief Minister, Union Minister Ambika Soni has reportedly stepped down. While the parley goes on between the rest of the contenders in Chandigarh, where the High command's decision is underway, Ambika Soni withdrew her interest from the race as she feels that a Sikh must take over the state government. Earlier, she has visited Rahul Gandhi's residence in the national capital to discuss the same. The former Union Minister stated that the man or woman who would lead Punjab after Captain Amarinder Singh should be from the Sikh community. She adds that the opinions are divided to ensure that all sections of communities get equal representation.
